Another Dreamforce approaches

As we stare down the tunnel on our way into the entry point of another Dreamforce (DF) conference, I have been contemplating on what will be the "big" announcement this year. Every year the folks over at salesforce.com keep up us at the edge of our seat before they unveil some revolutionary technology which is promptly followed by a huge musical performance/concert. This year is a little bit different for us from last year. How? you ask. Many partners of salesforce.com who attend Dreamforce regularly start to feel like unless they put in tons of money, the marketing machine which DF claims to be can never be realized. I beg to differ. If you have the right product and the right team behind that product then your chances of being highlighted and properly marketed grows tremendously. So back to my explanation on why it is different for us this year...I will tell you why! We are no longer the new kid on the block. We have seen what native apps are capable of and were even nominated last year for Native App of the year. This year we are coming in with over 5 times the volume of customer installs and having survived the market niche we have carved out for our self and yet remained a leader in the "native" game. My friends at salesforce.com and true force.com visionaries will love to hear that the Ascent product does not mess around with any of the composite "nonsense" and stays true to the game by embracing what force.com was built to do. DESTROY PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE/MAINTENANCE! Don't believe me? Take a look on the AppExchange and see if you can find an app which handles Supply Chain management and inventory control without somehow forcing you to "composite" yourself...I think that is the bad word for the day...COMPOSITE...

I tend to get passionate and geeky with these things and will have more thoughts on what comes and is coming as we approach another DF conference...look out!

Stay tuned for more but right now I have to go and figure out how to create add ons to base managed packages without stepping on multiple custom objects...
